I have a mini-farm in South Knoxville - Spirit Dog Farm (Certified Appalachian Grown, all-natural non-certified organic) - and would like to learn more about permaculture.
What neighborhood do you live in?
South Knox County near Seymour
What skills or experiences do you have that can be shared?
We micro-farm organically using a mix of gardening and farming techniques that allow us to maximize the space we are able to commit to crops. Those techniques include modified raised beds, square foot gardening, making our own soil from composted horse manure, seed saving where we can, and working to use our livestock for pest and weed control when we can. We also build and sell a line of custom chicken coops in sizes from a few hens (up to 6) to a small production flock (up to 24) and planter boxes in compact sizes that we use where we can't fit in our permanent raised beds.
About me:
I'm a mom, wife and grandmom with a family of six (plus all the critters). We are active in 4H, committed to building our dream farm and know we are blessed and content. Our website is listed below and you can also follow us on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/SpiritDogFarm
