"Just a question, I don't qualify for the open Extension Specialist, are there any low level jobs in this field? I don't have the education required for the position, but it would be a life's dream to work in this field."

Dear Mary, please let me know if you have any greenhouse, field, or event support volunteer needs. I could do a few hours here and there. I'd probably catch up with what you're doing faster that way than asking for personal "meeting". I have worked at the U.T. gardens in the past, mainly in the greenhouses, also with extension service as Master Gardener and Master Completed. Organic gardener off and on for fourth years, heading towards Permaculture as fast as my little brain and other resources will let me.

Mary,
I have also just started a Parkridge ning.com site. Here's the link: Parkridge Community. It's very new, but will hopefully take off as the new way to communicate in Parkridge.

There are several people in the neighborhood who have expressed an interest in this. Back in 2002, there was a community garden up on 5th maybe around Chestnut. One of the guys who helped till said that it was shady. Hopefully some of the other people who are interested will sign up here and you all can start a discussion about it.
