Profile Information

Why are you interested in joining the guild? (If you are outside the Knoxville region, why are you interested in joing the guild?)
I love the weedy, overgrown parts of my city best, the crumbly old buildings and the real beauty of comfortable, relaxed places and institutions. I see a future built of lovely, humble things like chicken coops, gardens, rope swings, narrow lanes, cherished urban streams. I love beautiful buildings built to satisfy people's comfort and emotional well-being.
What neighborhood do you live in?
4th and Gill
What skills or experiences do you have that can be shared?
My life experiences include gardening, sewing, knitting, taking care of children, goats, chickens. Also amateur house-building using "green" techniques such as lime-and-straw plaster.
About me:
I am a full-time mom with a patchwork of odd-jobs that all have something to do with books or writing. I fill in at Central St. Books occasionally, write student workbooks for Czech ESL students, and write a column for the Metro Pulse. My husband is Ben Epperson, program manager of Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities. I spend a lot of time exploring Knoxville with my kids.
