Tuckahoe Sustainable Neighborhood

I and my family have 70 acres in the Tuckahoe area of east Knox County which we want to become home to a sustainable neighborhood. Around 30-40 acres) will be left as common area for the community to enjoy. We welcome your suggestions!

Thought I'd drop a note in the discussion, though there hasn't been life here for quite a while. Did anything ever develop out of your plan? And I was also wondering roughly where you are on the Tuckahoe... I probably don't live more that 3 miles from where you are, as the crow flies...

Alex,
Great discussion.
I am a new member and understand you may want to utilize this land?
I have experience in organic farming and am looking for a place to start year-round food production. If interested, you can get back to me here or:

Thanks,

Hey Alex, another question, looking at the pic of your land there looks like a creek or small river that runs through it. Do you have a problem with fishing? I still want to help you with the garden as well. You have a great location to grow some really good stuff like melons, mushrooms, corn for sure, etc. You have enough room to grow a great organic garden. You could sell the produce at the local markets to help off-set the cost as well.

Most of the committed environmentalists that I know understand that hunters fund an enormous amount of wildlife protection.
More and more I think that environmental protection is a question of "use it or lose it".

We can meet anytime. I live in old north Knoxville. I gave you my number and email, you just call or send a message and we can do some lunch or dig some dirt for gardening, your choice; Like I said I just enjoy the outdoors, I just don't have the means to enjoy them..ha Have you looked at my page to see my garden and stuff? If not please do.

You are probably correct. There are a lot of PC people on this site and probably don't like people that hunt, I just run into this a lot, I am very concerned with our environment, but I am also a hunter and sometimes those two don't sit well.

That'd be great. I'm kind of out of commission for a while, but don't let that hold you back. When can you meet? I'm out of town next week.

I think you may be leaping to conclusions. I could be wrong, but I think Tracie was just confused about what we were talking about.

And on another note. I would love to help you build a garden on your property. I have a ton of seeds to grow almost anything you want but I don't have the room. I think you have a great area to grow melons, pumpkins, gourds, etc.
