What is a fruit sharing group?

The intent of this group is to share plentiful fruit and nut harvests with a neighborhood community of willing harvesters. If you have a fruit tree that is producing more than your family can harvest and eat, you can send a message out to this group on where and when and how much to harvest. If you don't have fruit trees, but would like to help with the harvesting and eating, you should join too. Eventually, this group may evolve into purchasing wholesale fruit trees together, sharing tree care information, and helping with plantings. Lets start small and see how it goes!

**IMPORTANT**
If you want to be notified of all new postings within this group, you need to:
1) go into the 'discussion forum' list below
2) Click 'view all' in the bottom right,
3) Click the little envelope that says, "Notify – Email me when there are new discussions"

Also, if you want to post a fruit sharing opportunity, make sure you do it WITHIN the discussion forums and not the comment wall. Tricky! (but at least we're not getting spammed all the time!).

Zucchini

I had no luck with zucchini this year. Is there anyone who would like to share some with me?

This sounds like a terrific group ! We are in the process of moving from NC to Rockwood (Roane Co) TN and hopefully we will have berries, etc planted next year. Right now I have 7 fig trees planted and I am hoping to get some figs. I will have to see if they make it thru the coming winter though.

Anyone else growing figs here that can give me some pointers?

Thank - Linda

We put in our bramble (raspberry and blackberry) patch in late winter. Some have produced but we'll see a real boom by next spring and summer. Plus, watch for us in the coming years. We're putting our 10 apple trees in Malcolm Martin Park this fall. They're bare root so we'll have to water and wait. Plus our blueberries are finishing up, so come and get some. 1719 Reynolds Street.

Another Brilliant Idea!

Yes I desire to belong to this side group too!

The house on Bona Rd produces figs this time of the year. I asked the new owner at the closing if she liked figs; she had never had one! It is time to call her and see if I can still pick some. I'd be happy to share. Just have folks come over after i have picked!!! We planted a few small fig trees from the limbs of it so perhaps in a few years we will be able to pick from our harvest again.

We have Black Walnuts here at The Well! Anyone is welcome to them!
