Event Description

On March 17th we will have a foraging outing for mushrooms at our farm in south Roane county: www.wingedelmfarm.com.

Let's plan on gathering at 9:30 that morning. We can head out soon after for a few hours. Plan on returning to the house for a light lunch and and an examination of our finds.

We are still looking for that one knowledgeable person to join the rest of us amateurs. Make sure to bring some sturdy walking shoes and a harvest knife.

All are welcome.

It's been on my calendar for weeks! Looking forward to it.  Directions on your website?  Foragers should also bring a basket or bag for their finds.  Thanks for hosting.

This sounds like great fun for me and my two kids.  We are from the pacific northwest and miss the adventure of "hunting" mushrooms while playing in the forest.  We would love to learn more about the varieties that grow here in East TN!

I am hoping to come and bring my two older children ( 20 and 24)...we are avid photographers, and my son is very knowledgeable in any reptiles we might find lol. We have hunted for Morels before but anything else we'd have to learn.

I am knowlegable on several variaties of boletes,  chanterelles, and morells.  IN march you would probably only be finding morells.  I have a copy of David Aroura's Mushrooms Demystified that I can bring along if I can make it.
