Cob is a natural building material mixed out of local clay, sand and straw. Its also called monolithic adobe, or, as my neighbors call it - mud. People have been building cob houses, walls, etc for thousands of years. Much of humanity still abodes in earthen structures of some form.
Come out to the NEW Parkridge Community Garden and get your feet dirty! We'll be making a cob wall at the entrance of the garden. We'll have two shifts (and two quick lectures on the how-to) - 10 to 12 and then from 1 to 3.
So come and learn, have fun, and help the community!
(Bring shoes you don't mind getting completely covered in mud. Water bottle, and a sack lunch if you want to stay for both shifts!)
$1 to $10 voluntary donation.
